Liberia launches system to track peacebuilding projects
Monrovia, Liberia; September 27, 2011: The Ministry of Finance’s Aid Management Unit, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), launched a ‘New Deal Dashboard (NDD)’ on Friday 28 September 2013.
The Dashboard is an online tool that displays donor-funded peacebuilding activities across Liberia with the possibility of customizing how the data is organized, generating information on places, regions and types of peacebuilding projects being implemented in Liberia. It will also provide the Government of Liberia with information needed to make decisions for future peace building initiatives.
The New Deal Dashboard draws on data from the Aid Management Platform but adds relevant peacebuilding data.
These peace building activities are aligned with the Peace Building and State Building Goals (SPG) of the New Deal for which Liberia is a pilot country. Liberia’s selection as a pilot country came in 2011 for a project aimed at enhancing the quality and availability of data on donor funding to peacebuilding activities.
The project has been funded by the European Union and implemented by the UN Peacebuilding Support Office and the Liberian Government, with support from UNDP.
